MASTER IN HEBIATRICS - DETERMINANTS OF HEALTH IN ADOLESCENCE
The goal of the graduate program in the UPE Faculty of Dentistry is to generate knowledge through innovative, interdisciplinary research, so as to educate and train the next generation of faculty members to meet the demands of the new curriculum design of undergraduate degree programs in the area of health by means of the study of determinants of health in adolescence.
The program was approved by the Teaching, Research and Extension Council (CEPE) of the University of Pernambuco by Resolution nº 031/2003 and received a score of 4 from CAPES – the Brazilian government agency responsible for quality assurance in postgraduate courses – in a scale grading system that ranges from 1 to 5. Activities began in February 2005. Candidates are required to complete a program totaling at least 30 credits made up of compulsory subjects (? credits) and elective subjects (? credits) plus 20 credits of dissertation study.
Upon graduation our students will be ready to take part in university multidisciplinary research teams carrying out advanced work to comply with new curriculum configuration of undergraduate degree programs as well as to act in SUS – our public health system – with proposals based on scientific evidence.
